veloVigil is a Karoo extension and cloud data pipeline for cyclists. It captures biometric and ride data from your head unit and makes it available to your own AI for coaching analysis. The extension is open source under the MIT license.
By using veloVigil, you agree to these terms. They're short because the product is simple.
The veloVigil Karoo extension is provided as-is, open source under the MIT License. You can inspect the code, modify it, fork it, or contribute to it. The source is on GitHub.
We make no warranty that the extension will work perfectly on every Karoo configuration, with every Bluetooth sensor, in every riding condition. We test it. We use it ourselves. But hardware is hardware.
This is important, so we'll be direct.
veloVigil is not a safety device. Crash detection is an experimental feature based on accelerometer data from a Polar H10 chest strap. It is not certified, tested, or approved as a personal safety device by any regulatory body. It may fail to detect a crash. It may trigger on a pothole. Do not rely on it as your sole safety measure.
Always ride with a phone. Tell someone your route. Wear a helmet. The crash detection feature is a supplement to your own safety practices, not a replacement for them.
We are not liable for any injury, accident, or failure of the crash detection system. By using the crash detection feature, you acknowledge that it is experimental and may not function as expected.

Common sense applies. If you wouldn't want someone doing it to your data, don't do it to theirs.
The extension is MIT licensed. The cloud infrastructure, API design, and this website are copyright Northwoods Sentinel LLC. Your ride data is yours. We claim no rights to any data you generate, store, or analyze.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, veloVigil and Northwoods Sentinel LLC are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.
The extension is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
We may update these terms. Material changes get 30 days notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with changes, stop using the service and cancel any paid subscription.
